FIREFIGHTERS were called to Greenock Cemetery to help deal with a dangerous tree.
A large branch of the tree had fallen against the cemetery wall shortly before noon and there were fears it could crash down onto busy Inverkip Road.
The road was closed for half an hour so that grounds staff could cut the branch off and remove it.
Fire crew manager Malcolm Nicolson said: "A large branch of a tree had snapped and was leaning against the wall of the creamatorium.
"The crematorium team brought a chainsaw and took the branch off and it fell onto the road. They chopped it up and disposed of it.
"The road was closed for 30 minutes."
