INVERCLYDE politicians are ‘glowing gold’ in support of a children’s cancer charity.
Ronnie Cowan MP and Stuart McMillan MSP teamed up to raise awareness of Glow Gold — a campaign which aims to put the funding of drugs to treat childhood cancer firmly in the spotlight this month.
Stuart McMillan, MSP for Greenock and Inverclyde, said: “Cancer is the number one cause of non-accidental death in children, yet it is too often mis-diagnosed, resulting in a poor prognosis for many children.
“The Glow Gold September campaign is a fantastic opportunity to join together to raise awareness of this devastating disease during the month of September and I am delighted to support the cause.
“Many Inverclyde schools and businesses have already supported the campaign and I would ask that anyone still to get involved considers hosting a ‘Glow Gold for a Day’ event.”
