A DEBATE around priorities for Inverclyde sparked off the discussion at the area’s annual third sector conference.

The event - Our Place Our Future - is organised by CVS Inverclyde and took place at the Beacon Arts Centre.

It focused on findings from a recent community engagement survey, which gathered the opinions of local residents, and also included a series of workshops.

Key priorities covered included poverty, reducing inequality, repopulation and environment.

A panel debate was hosted by Annie Gunner Logan, director of the Coalition of Care and Support Providers in Scotland.

Lining up to take questions from the delegates were council leader Stephen McCabe, Kevin Scarlett, chief executive of River Clyde Homes, Allan Johnstone, boss of Voluntary Action Scotland, and Ian Bruce of CVS Inverclyde.

Ian said: “We enjoyed another great line up of participants at the conference, coupled with informative workshop sessions and the chance for delegates to network, as well as visit stalls run by a variety of organisations.”
