THE house at the centre of a police inquiry into missing woman Margaret Fleming has been sold to two millionaire transport tycoons.

Minaz Rajabali, 57, and business partner Harinder Singh Kohli, 51, have bought the isolated cottage for £120,000 from Margaret’s carers and plan to demolish it.

Eddie Cairney, 75, and Avril Jones, 56, sold the house in Inverkip after Inverclyde Council recently ruled it unfit for habitation.

They moved out last week and fencing was thrown around the property at the weekend, pictured.

The cottage underwent extensive forensic examination after Margaret was reported missing last October.

Its garden was dug up and divers trawled the shoreline in the hunt for the 36-year-old, who hasn’t been seen by anyone other than Mr Cairney and Ms Jones since December 1999.

Mr Rajbali and Mr Kohli run haulage and recycling firm Slam Transport in Coventry which has assets of more than £5 million.

They also develop properties and own a number of homes throughout the UK and abroad.

Property records show the deal to buy the Inverkip property was concluded on Monday.

In his entry on business website LinkedIn, London-based Mr Kohli said: “As well as running Slam UK I also have a number of property development projects underway including the construction of residential properties in major cities such as London and New York.

“I am also developing a housing site in Poland and a major business site in Puna, India.”

Neither of the businessmen responded to requests for comment.

At a court hearing last month Ms Jones’ lawyers challenged the demolition order secured by the council.

The Tele reported how her agents said that a mystery buyer wanted to buy the house with their own plans to bulldoze it.

She was granted extra time to sell it, with a further court hearing due to take place tomorrow.

Solicitor Caroline Goodenough, acting for Ms Jones, told Greenock Sheriff Court: “There is a proposed sale of the property...a third party who advises they wish to purchase the property with plans to demolish it.”

In their first public statement earlier this month, Mr Cairney and Ms Jones claimed they had seen Margaret in the past year and that she had been working as an agricultural gangmaster across England and Europe.

Police Scotland have declined to comment on the claims and say enquiries are continuing.
