FANS of acclaimed Scottish rockers Big Country will get up close and personal with the band at a sell-out Greenock gig this weekend.

The group - Bruce Watson, Jamie Watson, Mark Brzezicki, Simon Hough and Scott Whitley - will play The Albany on Saturday.

The band was formed in Dunfermline in 1981 and had a string of hits at home and abroad, selling millions of records worldwide.

They arrive in Greenock as part of an extensive tour of the UK, Germany, Australia and New Zealand taking them through to April next year.

Fans in Inverclyde will have the chance to see the band up close at the Orangefield venue and celebrate their extensive back catalogue of songs taken from their multi-million selling and number one hit albums, including the triple Grammy-nominated 'The Crossing', 'Steeltown', 'The Seer' and 'Peace In Our Time'.

The band will perform classic hits and live favourites such as 'Fields of Fire', 'Chance', 'In A Big Country', which sold two million copies alone, 'East Of Eden' and their biggest UK hit, 'Look Away'.

An Audience with Big Country - Up Close and Personal, is on at The Albany on Saturday at 8pm.
