RESIDENTS and relatives gathered at Broadstone Gardens’ Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning and managed to raise a record breaking £1,117.
The sheltered housing complex in Port Glasgow had around 40 people in attendance at the event, who were treated to delicious home baking and sampled an old-fashioned ‘McKillop’s Bakers’ fruitcake thanks to one of the residents having the original recipe.
Elaine O’Donnell, warden at the complex, said: “The event was a huge success and I’d like to thank everyone who attended and assisted on the day.”
