A GANG of three men jumped out of a black-coloured car in Port Glasgow last night and slashed a 40-year-old man on the face — leaving him permanently scarred.
The incident on the town's Parkhill Avenue occurred between 8pm and 8.15pm last night and also involved the injured man being repeatedly beaten about his face and body.
The man was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital where medics provided emergency treatment.
Greenock CID have this morning issued an appeal for witnesses.
Anyone with information regarding the serious assault is asked to contact officers as a matter of urgency on the 101 number, or call anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
