LADY Alice Primary’s classrooms were full of many weird and wonderful characters for a spooky Halloween celebration.

Plenty of strange faces turned up for school yesterday, with lots of little witches, wizards and zombies — and even the teachers were in on the act.

All the pupils and staff had a great day in disguise.
Pupils were telling ghost stories as they enjoyed Halloween themed lessons.

Head teacher Gail Connick said: “It was a great celebration. We were delighted to see all the pupils dressed up and I would like to thank the parents for all the effort. There were so many wonderful and scary costumes.

“All of our lessons were about Halloween and the local traditions. We spoke about why we had Halloween and the history around it.”

Lady Alice Primary, who are currently in a temporary home in the former St Stephen’s High while their school is refurbished, introduced the special event this year.

Everyone from teachers, classroom assistants and office staff joined in the fun.

In the afternoon the children went dooking for apples and played games.

They tucked into ‘bat biscuits’ and other themed treats as well as a Halloween feast for lunch.
