A DOG walker was seriously injured after a random attack in Port Glasgow last night.
The 43-year-old was punched and kicked by another man walking his dog in Castlehill Avenue at around 10.30pm.
He was rushed to hospital where needed stitches for head injuries.
Detective Constable Sharon Crawford says it is being treated as a serious assault.
She said: "He was repeatedly punched and kicked to the head and body. Police and ambulance attended and he was conveyed to Inverclyde Royal. He required stiches to head injuries and later discharged.
"It appeared to have been an unprovoked attack."
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
