GOUROCK train station commuters have been left in the cold because of faulty front doors which have been jammed open for months.
Freezing staff and passengers have complained bitterly to Scotrail about the ongoing situation with the automatic gateway.
The station through-way is used by thousands of commuters every day using the station to get the train.
The problem is the end of the line for passengers using the Glasgow Central to Gourock line and by those going in the opposite direction.
One said: "It's bad enough when the trains are late, but this is beyond a joke.
"It's been months and still no resolution."
For the last 18 months the doors have been repeatedly breaking down and then they finally packed in eight weeks ago.
Now they are held open all day by sacks of salt bags, with hazard cones on either side.
Scotrail admitted the doors need replaced and did not confirm when that would be.
A fed up member of staff said: "It is ridiculous for the staff. It is winter and we are freezing cold. It is so draughty.
"It has been going on for months and it has been reported repeatedly, but nothing ever seems to be done about it.
"We are also concerned that it is a health and safety hazard with salt bags. Someone will end up tripping."
Up to 30 members of staff, including tickets collectors, use the station as a place of work every day.
They assist thousands of passengers using the busy destination.
Scotrail Alliance, which comprises both Scot Rail and Network Rail, said that there had been a number of faults.
A spokesperson said: “The safety of our customers and staff is always our top priority.
"Our contractors have advised that these doors need replaced, and we are working towards this.”
