A TEEN beauty queen has vowed to use her new title to be a voice for children across the country.
Leah Canning, 16, uses her beauty pageant success to support charities like the STV Children's Appeal.
The newly-crowned Miss Teen Scotland has now vowed to raise £1,000 over the next year and use her crown as a force for good.
Top role model Leah recently met First Minister Nicola Sturgeon as she continued to raise money and awareness.
Leah, who lives in MacLeod Street, said: "I am so proud to hold the Miss Teen Scotland title after a year as Miss Queen UK.
"I want to use my pageants to help raise awareness of children's causes and things that mean a lot to me.
"I want to help other young people and have been supporting the STV appeal because they help people in Inverclyde.
"At one of the events I met Nicola Sturgeon and she was lovely and very interested in what I was doing."
Leah herself had a tough start to life after she was born three months premature.
She survived against all the odds but suffers from hyper mobility.
She continues to fight through it to be a success on the pageant circuit and at school.
Leah would like to thank her sponsors, Waterfront Cinema and Greenock store Gifto, for their continued support.
She added: "I would also like to thank my school, my family and my friends because I couldn't do it without them."
