BLACK ice caused travel chaos on roads around Inverclyde this morning.
Police and the fire service were called to a car crash on the A78 IBM road while there was also an incident in Kinloch Terrace, Braeside, pictured.
Officers closed some roads due to the treacherous conditions.
Parts of lower Larkfield and Gourock were also badly affected by the ice, caused by prolonged sub-zero temperatures overnight.
A yellow Met Office ‘be aware’ warning was in place from 6pm on Wednesday until 10am this morning warning of spells of rain, sleet and snow turning to ice as the mercury plummeted.
