DRIVERS are being warned about dangerous conditions on Inverclyde's roads due to snow and ice.

This is the scene this monring in Marloch Avenue in upper Port Glasgow, which has become treachrous to navigate due to the weather.

Roads in low lying areas such as Greenock town centre remain clear but a mixture of blizzard conditions and sub-zero temperatures is causing problems on several routes, particularly those on higher ground across the district.

The inclement weather forced Inverclyde Council to close all schools this morning for safety reasons.

There is also some disruption to the bus network and on the Gourock and Wemyss Bay train lines.
