A FAST food giant has been given the go-ahead by council officials to open a new outlet in Port Glasgow.
McDonald's has won permission for a new drive-through restaurant on a section of the Port Glasgow Tesco car park.
The Tele had revealed late last year that the company was seeking the green light for its second outlet in Inverclyde.
Bosses say a minimum of 30 full-time and 35 part-time staff will be taken on ‘primarily from the local area’.
The drive-through restaurant will be two-storeys tall, have seating for 187 people and 34 car parking spaces, including two disabled bays.
The layout includes two drive-through waiting areas and two electric vehicle charging points, an outdoor eating area and a ‘pedestrian link’ to the supermarket.
