AN optical assistant from Greenock proved a glass act for charity after raising £360 for a good cause.
Kimberley Robertson, who works in the town’s Specsavers, was the top fundraiser for the Ardgowan Hospice Jingle Bell Jog in December and was rewarded for her efforts.
She was presented with a pair of designer glasses from store director Lesley Brown and a certificate from hospice fundraising officer Alex Mula.
Specsavers sponsored the event — as well as the charity’s flagship ball in Greenock Town Hall last week — and put up the prize to encourage participants to go the extra mile.
The 3k jog took place along the Esplanade and participants could also walk the route.
Alex said: “We are so pleased that Specsavers put up this prize to help us increase the amount the each person raised.
“We are delighted with Kimberley’s individual effort.
“The money Kimberley has raised could fund 24 sessions for a recently bereaved child or young person with our child and family support service.”
