IT'S hats off to boys and girls at a Greenock nursery for their array of colourful Easter bonnets.

Youngsters at Gibshill Children's Centre held a parade to show off their seasonal head gear.

The bonnets were created by the pupils with help from their parents at home, and at the recent craft day held at the Smillie Street nursery.

As a reward, the children were given two chocolate eggs - one from the Gibshill staff and another from kind employees at EE in Greenock.

Craig Scott, depute head of centre, said: "Some made their hats at home with their parents and carers but the majority made theirs at our craft day the week before.

"We had a parade to show them off and asked parents and carers to come back in to see them.

"EE staff Chris, Maureen and Elaine came along and donated 90 Easter eggs for all the kids.

"They had a collection in work and we were delighted to receive them.

"It was very kind."

The fun day also featured some singing, dancing, fun and games to celebrate the start of Easter and the end of another action-packed term at the nursery.

Mr Scott said: "The Easter bunny came along and we had an egg hunt out the back.

"It was a really good day and a lovely ending to the week after a busy time of late."
