A SUPER slimmer is finding her pockets a lot lighter after dropping SIX dress sizes in only a matter of months.

Stunning Sharon Lyden has found a new love of shopping since losing five stone.

The 48-year-old told the Tele she has even had to take a second look in the mirror to recognise herself.

The Cigna worker swapped the likes of chips for baked potatoes as part of her new family friendly healthy diet with Slimming World - and is reaping the rewards.

Sharon, from Branchton, said: "I need a whole new wardrobe.

"It is great, but expensive!

"I never imagined I could lose this weight but once I started I just kept going.

"I am getting lots of compliments and when I pass a mirror I look and think 'oh that's me!'."

In July last year Sharon joined her sister-in-law at Slimming World and has never looked back since.

She said: "I had never been thin and was always the bigger girl.

"I had always been slagged at school and as the years went on I just started putting more weight on.

"My sister-in-law wanted some support to lose weight for a wedding and I decided to go along.

"I went to the class and stepped on the scales.

"They said to me that was the last time I would see that figure and it was.

Sharon wore her size 20 dress size well but she desperately wanted to feel more healthy and lose at least a few stone.

Nine months on Sharon has won many admirers for her impressive weight loss.

Now she is a healthy ten stone 12lbs and comfortably wears size 12.

There was more good news when she recently went to the shops.

The Cigna support worker said: "I couldn't believe I buy size ten jeans."

Sharon has not only transformed her own diet but her healthy eating is rubbing off on her husband Michael, 51 and her daughter Emma, 12.

She said: "I always make healthy meals. Before I wouldn't take my lunch to work, now I am very organised."

Her consultant Michele Collins is over the moon at Sharon's success.

She said: "Sharon looks amazing. We do everything we can to encourage those who come to our class. Sharon stayed for the class and it is a great way of feeling involved."

Michele, 40, started up her own class after joining Slimming World to lose weight after gruelling treatment breast cancer treatment.

She hopes to inspire others to lose weight at her three classes in Greenock West United Reformed Church, George Square on Mondays.

Her doors open at 9.30am, 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
