A GOUROCK schoolboy who featured in major TV drama says it was an 'amazing' experience.

Rhys Lambert, 14, starred in acclaimed Agatha Christie adaptation Ordeal by Innocence which was shot at Ardgowan Estate.

The St Columba's pupil was rubbing shoulders with a top cast of actors including Bill Nighy and Anna Chancellor.

The teenager played the part of a youngster in the sinister 1950s whodunnit and hopes it will be a breakthrough moment for him.

Rhys said: "It's my biggest break and it's a good way to start.

"It was absolutely surreal, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

"At first it was quite intimidating but all the cast were just all so welcoming that I felt at ease on set.

"I learned so much from them.

"I spent a lot of time with Anna Chancellor and she helped me through it all."

Rhys' dad Charlie, 4, said it was a pleasant surprise when he made it through auditions to discover the set would be right on his doorstep.

He told the Tele: "When the production crew got in touch to make arrangements. I said that's five minutes down the road so we'll make our own way there.

"I am very proud of Rhys.

"We were invited to a screening for cast and crew.

"I work in London, so Rhys came down on the train to meet me.

"It was a lovely experience, just spectacular seeing it unfold on the big screen in contrast to watching it on television."

The whole family then sat down at home to watch the series on TV.

Rhys said: "It was crazy seeing myself for the first time on my own television."
