TOP DJ George Bowie says he is 'buzzing' about playing a big charity gig in Greenock with pop star Example.

The radio legend has joined Martin Compston's star-studded line-up to entertain a sell out crowd in aid of Ardgowan Hospice.

Once again the Greenock actor and hospice patron has pulled strings with his A-list pals to raise vital funds for a great cause.

Greenock-born George can't wait to follow the Brit nominated singer songwriter with a DJ set on the night.

Radio Clyde DJ George said: "It is going to be insane and I am buzzing.

"Example is such a big star, he is huge and his sets in Ibiza are amazing.

"It is brilliant that he will be in Greenock and it is for such a brilliant cause.

"The Ardgowan Hospice means so much to so many people.

"Greenock is one of my favourite places to go and the crowds are always wild."

George is also delighted to be teaming up with his pal Martin, who is now one of Britain's most in-demand actors.

He said: "Martin is such a brilliant actor but I think what he is doing says a lot for him as a person.

"He has never forgotten where he comes from and is trying to give back to Greenock.

"Martin has really put the hours in to help the hospice.

"He is a great guy and to get Example in Greenock is brilliant.

Greenock-born DJ George regularly pulls in the crowds in Word Up with his GB Experience shows and as a well-documented Morton fan he has a special affinity with the town.

He said: "I love Greenock, I was born here and I love going to Cappielow to see Morton. I can't wait to help support the hospice."

The big gig takes place in Greenock Town Hall on Thursday June 28.
