MAN is in a serious but stable condition in hospital following an attempted murder in Greenock.
A 20-year-old was struck with a bladed weapon in Union Street near the McLean Museum around 3.50pm yesterday.
The man is in a serious but stable condition at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Union Street was closed for hours yesterday as police investigated.
Officers are following a positive line of inquiry and believe just one other male was involved.
Detective Sergeant Scott Clark said: "We are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch."
