CHART-TOPPER Example will play Greenock next week — and the Tele has THREE pairs of tickets to give away for the gig.

The Brit Award-nominated musician and producer will take to the stage at the town hall on Thursday June 28 in aid of Ardgowan Hospice.

Clyde 1’s George Bowie is also on the bill and with his legendary GB Experience set.

The gig is being organised by Greenock actor Martin Compston, who is a patron of the hospice.

His agents have bought three pairs of tickets and Martin has donated them to the Telegraph as a ‘thank-you’ to readers for their support of the event and the much-loved Inverclyde charity.

The Line of Duty star has also announced that the town hall dance night is now open to over-14s due to demand.

Martin said: “It’s a lovely gesture from my agents Hamilton Hoddell who have bought three pairs of tickets to give away for the Ardgowan Hospice gig.

“This is my way of saying thanks to the Tele and the readers for their support for the event and the hospice.

“We’ve also decided to make it an over-14s event so that nobody misses out after listening to feedback on social media.

“When I was that age growing up in Greenock I would’ve been gutted to miss out so this opens it up to more people.”

There will be an after-party in Word Up after the gig.

See today's Tele for details on how to enter.

Tickets are on sale from www.brownpapertickets.com and a batch are also now available from Fenwick 47 on West Blackhall Street.
