A NEW shop is on the cards for Port Glasgow Retail Park — while another store is due to open there in August.

Bosses at the Card Factory have applied for permission for a £30,000 refit of premises in a bid to join the line-up at the retail park.

The company want to open in one of three smaller shops at the site next to Barrhead Travel.

Meanwhile, a date has been announced for the opening of Iceland’s Food Warehouse.

The store, which combines frozen food with groceries and chilled products, will open at 9am on Tuesday August 21 with recruitment still ongoing to fill 30 positions.

Alastair Dickie, director at retail park developers Ediston Real Estate, says it’s an exciting time for the retail park.

He said: “The park is busy, it’s popular.

“Iceland are due to start fitting out next week and we have one unit left.”

A spokesman for the Food Warehouse said recruitment is still ongoing.

The Tele contacted the Card Factory for a comment but no-one responded from the company.
