BUSINESS is heating up nicely for a Greenock company which has just been named as one of the best in the country in its field.
The three-strong team at Protec Plumbing and Heating are basking in success after being named as runner-up in the Scottish Home Improvement Awards.
Brian Bell, a co-director at the Grant Street based small business, says it is a huge honour to be named as the second best plumbing and heating company in Scotland.
He said: "When the nomination came through it was a surprise as we knew nothing about it.
"We were shortlisted in the final 20 then we got down to the final 10.
"At the grand final we just expected to go and enjoy a night out.
"When we were announced as runners-up, we were delighted as it basically means we are second best in the whole of Scotland for plumbing and heating."
Brian and his colleagues John Baxter - who is also a co-director - and Craig Sorrell pride themselves on their high standards and work ethic.
These qualities made them stand out from the hundreds of other firms put forward for the prestigious award.
Craig said: "Our work has to be spot on, nothing else.
"It's got to be perfect."
Brian added: "We pride ourselves on what we do.
"It's about keeping the customer happy and making sure they know what they are getting and giving them the best job they can get."
