A MAJOR new first aid training regional centre is set to open in Greenock.
St Andrew’s First Aid’s Training and Supplies Ltd will be based in the Ladyburn Business Centre and becomes operational on July 9.
It is pledging to train 500 people within a year.
Kenny Fulton, from Greenock, will spearhead the courses on behalf of the organisation.
He joined the team last year and is a veteran trainer who previously worked in the leisure industry for 20 years, teaching life-guarding and first aid.
He said: “I am delighted to be involved in the expansion of St Andrew’s First Aid Training and Supplies Ltd into my home town of Greenock.
“First aid courses are critical for employers to provide a safe working environment for staff and to ensure employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.
“I’ve been involved in first aid and health and safety training for over 20 years and I’m passionate about what I do.
“It gives me the opportunity to share my own knowledge and real life experiences and, in turn, I can pass on valuable lifesaving skills to others.”
The new facility will be fully kitted out with all the equipment necessary to deliver a range of specialist and certified first aid and health and safety programmes.
A spokesman or the organisation said: “Greenock will provide a central point for St Andrew’s First Aid Training and Supplies Ltd, aimed at bringing the highest quality workplace first aid training closer to the business communities located in the west coast of Scotland.”
