A PORT actor is 'getting to grips' with a new career path as he aims to become one of the world's best wrestling stars.

Craig Millar, from Glenhuntly Terrace, says he spent his childhood dreaming of becoming a wrestler.

Now it's a reality as he will step into the ring for a major wrestling tournament in Glasgow this weekend.

The 28-year-old, whose stage name is 'The Natural Craig Anthony', said: "It's a great feeling to love what you do.

"It doesn't feel like work as you're doing something you love and that you never thought was possible."

Craig says he's always been a huge wrestling fan and grew up watching stars like Hulk Hogan on TV.

He said: "I was hooked, and it was a big part of growing up.

"When I went to university even though I stopped watching it I would still look at old clips online."

Craig said a chance meeting led him on his exciting new venture.

He added: "There has been a big resurgence in wrestling over here in the last few years.

"The British wrestling scene has exploded and created so many more opportunities.

"I was at a New Year party in 2016 that I got talking to a girl who worked with Insane Championship Wrestling.

"She put me in touch with Mikey Whiplash, the head trainer at Source Wrestling School in Glasgow and the rest is history."

Craig started training at the school which has produced multiple international WWE superstars, and enjoyed his first debut match earlier this year.

He is now gearing up to compete in the Source Wrestling School's three day tournament which begins tomorrow.

He said: "I'm buzzing for it.

"I'm up against Stevie Boy Xavier who is the current ICW world heavyweight champion so it's a big match."

Craig hopes to take his wrestling to the next level.

He added: "I want to go as far as I can with it and would love to go into WWE and Japan Pro Wrestling."

But Craig is still acting and has been signed up to star in the panto at Motherwell Concert Hall.
