ANIMAL magic took hold as messy church at St Andrew's started the summer with a bang.
The fun session was based on the theme of Noak's Ark.
Children went on a 'safari hunt' around the church to make up the two-by-two pairs.
Robert Guthrie, session clerk at the Port church, said: "The sessions have been running for just over a year and have become more popular.
"We showed them a video about the story of Noah's Ark and gave a talk and then they went off to do crafts.
"They went on an animal hunt to find a pair of animals then coloured them in."
Kids also embraced the messy theme, with green slime proving to be a big hit.
Mr Guthrie says that the classes, which run between 3 and 5pm and are held four times a year, are a good way to reach out to young families.
Messy church has attracted children not only from the existing congregation but also related youth organisations who bring along their friends.
Robert also appealed for more people to go along and take part.
He said: "It has been a success but we would like more people to come along."
