A SEARCH has been launched for a Greenock man who has been missing for over a week.
Steven Brown, 41, has not been seen since Wednesday July 4.
He was last seen by a family member around 6pm that evening in Belville Street.
Police say that Steven has gone missing before, but usually maintains contact with his family.
On this occasion no-one has heard from him or seen him and his family contacted police two days ago to officially report him as a missing person.
Extensive enquiries are underway to locate Steven, with police checking CCTV footage.
He has often travelled to the Helensburgh and Falkirk areas and officers are conducting enquiries in those locations.
Sergeant Laura Stewart said: “Steven’s family is extremely concerned for him.
"Although he has gone off for a few days before, he has always contacted them and they have always known he was okay.
"Steven hasn’t been in touch with any of his family or friends and everyone just wants to know he is safe and well.
"If anyone has seen Steven or has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts, please contact police on 101."
