CHILDREN reached dizzy new heights as the somersaulted their way into the summer at a dynamic dance camp in Gourock.

Tumbling tots and teenagers practised dispayed aerial acrobatics at an action-packed activity camp hosted by Dancemania and DM Diamondz.

Based in the school's brand new studios in Caledonia Crescent, the young people took full advantage of the specially sprung floor by practising their backflips and somersaults.

Eight-year-old Eva Campbell said: "I'm really enjoying it.

"I've made lots of new friends.

"I like working as a team."

Studio owner Ann Marie Campbell says the camp, for kids aged between four and 13, is designed to be fun but educational at the same time.

She said: "We start off with a powerpoint presentation each day where we talk about the different themes, so they're having fun but learning too.

"We've been doing a range of activities including arts and crafts and baking as well as dance, gymnastics and acrobatics."

Gemma Campbell, one of the coaches, is also Ann Marie's daughter, and says the children are having a ball.

She said: "It's been great fun as they've been doing something different every day and when it's been sunny, we've also been taking them outside too."
