POLICE have launched a search to find a man who indecently exposed himself to a woman in broad daylight in Greenock beside a main road.
The incident took place on Saturday afternoon but details were only released this afternoon.
Officers have issued a description of the suspect.
A police spokeswoman said: "Around 2pm a man exposed himself to a 48-year-old woman at the pedestrian crossing in East Hamilton Street near to Cappielow.
"The man is described as being white, 40-50 years of age, approximately 5ft 6' tall, of heavy build, and he was wearing a pale silver grey bomber jacket with dark material band around the bottom, a black hat and worn-out blue jeans.
"Officers would like to speak to anyone who was within the area at the time and may have seen a man matching this description.
"They are particularly keen to speak to a man and woman who were at the crossing and may have witnessed the incident.
"Please contact Greenock Police on 101 quoting incident number 2751 of Saturday 4th August 2018. Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
