Golf Club aim to build on success

GOUROCK Golf Club junior golf team are preparing themselves for another tough campaign in the Tail O' The Bank League.

They are hoping to build on their successes of last season but know they will face a difficult time against talented teams from Cowal, Greenock, Lochwinnoch, Port Glasgow and Greenock Whinhill.

Top Gourock gents golfer, Chris Mooney spent an evening with the junior team and looked at ways in which they could analyse their golf games with a view to improvement. The team can look forward to group coaching sessions with club PGA professional, Derek Watters.

Gourock Golf Club are soon to host the 2011 Tail O' The Bank presentation day which will involve all members clubs in a Texas Scramble followed by lunch and presentation of prizes.

Prizewinners: League Winners - Gourock GC; Reserve League Winners - Gourock GC; Order of Merit (Scratch) - Stephen Wilson (Greenock Whinhill); Order of Merit (Handicap) - Jamie Sinnamon (Greenock Whinhill) and Daragh Cuddihy (Gourock); Greenock and District Champion (Scratch) - Gavin McDougall (Gourock).
