A LARGE container tumbled on to the A78 yesterday afternoon when a lorry parted company with its load near Inverkip.

One lane on approach to the Bankfoot Roundabout was blocked by the half-tonne pallet.

The lorry was heading towards Inverkip when the container became unsecure.

Police were called to the scene at 3.50pm to manage traffic, which was restricted to one lane, while work to remove the container was completed.
