DETECTIVES are today appealing for information following a wilful fireraising in Gourock yesterday evening.
A wheelie bin was dragged into a common close in the town’s Kempock Street and set alight just feet from residential flats at around 6.30pm.
Detective Sergeant Neil Martin told the Tele: “The bin was taken from a rear courtyard area at 45 Kempock Street and placed into the close before being deliberately set on fire.
“The area was busy at the time with people coming and going from pubs and we are looking for anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact us.”
If you can help, call police on the non-emergency 101 number or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
