A MUSICIAN who has played at T in the Park and supported the likes of Pete Doherty and Kyle Falconer will headline a show in Gourock this weekend - for free.

Brownbear frontman Matt Hickman, from Largs, tops the bill for the return of the Beatclub to the town tomorrow night.

He will take to the stage at Cleats Bar for a jam-packed gig which also features popular local lad David Laing and Paisley’s Michael Cassidy.

Headliner Matt has previously played at Scotland’s biggest music festival T in the Park and also supported the likes of Pete Doherty and The Libertines and The View lead singer Kyle Falconer.

The Beatclub was supposed to be on a hiatus this year but organisers say the line-up for tomorrow night was too good to turn down.

Greenock promoter Andrew ‘McD’ McDermid said: “The plan was for the Beatclub to take a break in 2016. However this was too good a bill to miss.

“I am really excited about the night – partly because its a great line, but also because I have never DJ’d in Cleats before.”

Beatclub returns to Gourock tomorrow night after a spell at the Cafe Continental before relocation to The Exchange in Greenock last year. Doors open at 8pm and entry is free.
