RAIL services in Inverclyde are getting back to normal after a man was hit by a train during rush hour.
Operators ScotRail have reopened the line between Glasgow Central and Gourock and Wemyss Bay following an incident at Bishopton station just before 5pm.
It is understood a man was hit by a train.
The incident meant passengers using the Wemyss Bay and Gourock lines faced lengthy delays and cancellations while emergency services dealt with the situation.
Replacement buses were running from Port Glasgow, pictured, Gourock and Wemyss Bay.
Train tickets were also being accepted on McGill's buses between Paisley and Gourock and Wemyss Bay.
But services are now getting back to normal.
A spokesperson for ScotRail said: "We’re working to return to a normal service after incident between Langbank and Paisley earlier.
"Thanks for your patience this evening."
The disruption was expected to last until around 8pm.
Passengers queued at stations across Inverclyde throughout the evening awaiting replacement buses.
It is understood the disruption also affected visitors from cruise ship Caribbean Princess, which arrived in Greenock early this morning, who had travelled to Glasgow city centre for the day.
