POLICE are investigating after a car was abandoned following a midnight crash on the Esplanade.
The vehicle, a black Volkswagen, had been travelling in the direction of Gourock in the early hours when it went out of control.
It’s understood that it struck a kerb before hitting a tree with such force that it spun back round to face the other way.
Officers were still on the scene this morning.
Anyone with information about the accident should call police on 101.
