FOUR up-and-coming Inverclyde acts will take to the stage in Gourock tomorrow for an evening of top-class live music.

The Da Rock Bar on Shore Street will host the first ‘Winter is Coming’ night with a packed line-up featuring local musician Max Ferrier, Greenock bands The Medicine Priests and Til We Have Faces and vocalist Emily Lepick.

It is the first event from newly-formed AJB Promotions, which is run by Gourock man and West College Scotland student Adam Beaton.

Adam, 17, said: “The aim for AJB Promotions is to bring the Inverclyde music scene back to its prime.

“I believe that Scotland, especially Inverclyde, has a fantastic range of musicians and a lot to show but with no platform.”

Adam, who is studying music business at the college’s Finnart Street campus in Greenock, has worked with promoters DF Concerts and manages artists including Medicine Priests’ frontman Anthony McElwee.

He is looking forward to the show tomorrow night is his hometown and he says audiences are in for a real treat.

Adam said: “The line-up includes Max Ferrier, a local folk artist who writes his own original songs along with some self proclaimed ‘miserable’ covers.

“Next on the bill is the talented singer/songwriter from Inverclyde, Emily Lepick, who has an extraordinary vocal range and I am sure she will put on a great show and gain some new fans at this gig.

“The third act is band Til We Have Faces who, after just releasing their three-track EP, drop down two members to put on a very special acoustic gig.

“The Medicine Priests will play last on the night, fronted by Greenock singer/songwriter Anthony McElwee.

“They are an indie rock band based in Glasgow.

“I’m looking to bring Inverclyde’s music scene back to life.”

The music starts at 7pm and tickets are on sale now priced £5 from the venue or any of the acts.

They can also be bought on the door tomorrow night with a 50p surcharge.
