A LUXURY beauty product a day is helping keep dry skin away — and raising money for children in Inverclyde this Christmas.

Beauty salon owners Ainsley Williamson and her sister Lesley-Anne Jess put up a top quality Decleor advent calendar up for a raffle.

Their loyal customers had the chance to win a calendar that gives them a little beauty surprise every day in the countdown to Christmas.

Ainsely, 33, who has a three-year-old son Harry, said: “The beauty calendars are so popular this year and we wanted to give one away and raise money for charity.

“Both my sister and I have children and we wanted to do something to support local kids.”

In the end the sisters, who opened up the salon in their teens, raised £150 for Children in Poverty Inverclyde and their lucky winner was customer Mhairi Spence.

But the family’s connection with the charity does not end there.

Their brother Allan Jess is also a big supporter of Children in Poverty Inverclyde.

Now their parents Frances and David are also getting involved. Along with other close relatives they will give £500 over to the charity rather than exchange Christmas gifts with one another.

Charity founder Pat Burke said: “Thanks to Ainsley Williamson of Bliss Beauty in Gourock for sponsorship of the advent calendar which was raffled in the salon for our charity over a seven-day period, raising a marvellous £150.

“We appreciate Ainsley, the staff and patrons of Bliss Beauty for such wonderful support.”
