ICY road conditions led to a brace of crashes in Inverclyde last night.
A black-coloured Vauxhall Corsa went out of control in Gourock's Sycamore Place and slid onto Finnart Crescent where it struck a front garden wall and became stuck. The accident happened at around 11.30pm and was attended by three police cars and a police van. A recovery vehicle freed the car and towed it away at 4.30am.
The woman driver, who was the only person within the car, was unhurt but the vehicle and the wall were both damaged by the collision.
A similar incident on Auchenbothie Road, Kilmacolm, saw a silver-coloured Mazda 2 slide into a hedge.
The driver was unhurt.
A spokesman for Greenock Police said: "Both of these incidents were purely down to road conditions at the time.
"We advise motorists to drive in accordance with the conditions around them."
