WORK is about to start on the demolition of a former Gourock bar and restaurant to make way for luxury flats.
Contractors will start to pull down the old Firth Hotel, latterly known as One Ashton Road, from next month.
The once-popular waterfront premises shut down in November 2014 and were bought by Kip Marina owners Holt Leisure Group around nine months later.
They were given permission to demolish the building and build 11 luxury flats in its place late last year.
The development has been designed by Gourock-based Richard Robb Architects and will feature a mixture of two and three-bedroom flats plus a penthouse apartment.
