A DEADLINE has been set for feedback about the controversial sale and redevelopment of a former Gourock boatyard site.

Members of the public have until September 29 to comment on plans for the old McLean’s Yard on Cove Road.

The sale of the land by Inverclyde Council has caused controversy as it is designated as a ‘common good’ site for the benefit of the public, although it is owned by the local authority.

Officials are currently mulling over three offers for the plot, all of which include plans for housing developments.

Proposals have been put forward for a single, detached, four-bedroom house, a pair of semi-detached properties and a three-storey tenement-style block of flats.

Comments can be emailed to property@inverclyde.gov.uk or posted to the Head of Legal and Property Services, Inverclyde Council, Municipal Buildings, Clyde Square, Greenock, PA15 1LX.
