IT'S 'game-on' for a Gourock make-up student who used her talents to bring a hit TV show to life.

Antonia Imponenti says the fantasy TV series Game of Thrones was the inspiration behind her graded unit which was showcased at a special exhibition.

The 25-year-old, who is nearing the end of her HND make-up artistry course at Greenock's West College Scotland, used her skills to create a 'White Walker Queen' based on the show's frightening character.

As part of the look, Antonia also recreated the show's infamous iron throne - using plastic swords, sellotape and staples.

She told the Tele: "My creation was a labour of love and the set took hours to perfect.

"It’s great to see it all finished and so worth it."

Antonia, who lives in the Larkfield Road area of Gourock, is already an established freelance make-up artist but decided to return to college to expand her skills.

She said: "I went to college to do anther make-up course about four or five years ago then went out by myself to work and I ended up working on short films.

"I've also always done wedding and bridal make-up.

"Last year I was asked to work on a film which had quite a big crew and the head of make-up said I should go and get my HND.

"So I decided to get my HND as it will help me get into the industry."

Antonia says that 'Game of Thrones' really inspired her work towards her graded unit.

She said: "I got into Game of Thrones and I thought the white walkers looked so cool and wondered how they were created.

"So I decided to make it my own by creating a white walker queen."

Antonia and her fellow students exhibited their work at the Braehead Curling Arena.

Now Antonia, a former Gourock High School pupil, has her sights set on working abroad.

She added: "I would love to get some film work abroad.

"It would be great to travel and work at the same time."

Other local students who completed the course included Hope Donnachie, Nicole Whiteside, Debbie Alexander, Leanne Dempster and Carina Frankgate.

Karen McIlvenna, who is the college's Hairdressing, Beauty and Make-up Artistry Head of Sector, congratulated all the students on their success at the exhibition.

She said:"Each of the students worked extremely hard."
