PARENTS in Gourock went back to the classroom to find out what their children get up to in school.
Clydeview Academy threw open its doors to pupils’ mums and dads to come in and have a look around — and even take part in some lessons.
The ‘Back to the Future’ afternoon saw parents cook up a pork stirfry in home economics, crunch numbers in mathematics, make their own dance track in music technology and learn some of the French language.
It proved a huge success with more than 30 enthusiastic mums and dads taking part.
The event was organised by the parent council and the school. Teachers and pupils all pitched in to help with the lessons and it proved an enjoyable day for all involved.
Gourock mum Lisa Semple, whose son and daughter attend the school, said: “I thought it was really well organised, very informative and enjoyable.
“It was really good fun.” Such was the success of the open day, plans are now being drawn up for a similar event to be held in the future.
