CONCERNS are growing for a Greenock man who went missing over the weekend as the search for him continues this morning.
Jamie Donnelly has not been seen since Saturday.
Mr Donnelly’s car was involved in a crash at 8pm that evening.
The 29-year-old’s vehicle came off Kilmacolm Road, between Knocknairshill Cemetery and the viewpoint, before bursting into flames.
Police, who have released an image of Jamie, say his disappearance is out of character.
They drafted a helicopter in to the area yesterday during the search and confirmed this morning that it is still ongoing.
The last time Jamie was seen was in Lansbury Street around 12.30pm on Saturday. He’s described as 5ft 6’, of medium build, with brown short hair, facial stubble and blue eyes.
When last spotted he was wearing a blue hooded top, Nike jogging bottoms and white Adidas trainers.
Constable Kirsty Dominick of Greenock police said: “It is completely out of character for Jamie not to be in contact with his family and friends.
“They are becoming increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.
“I urge anyone who has seen Jamie since noon on Saturday, or anyone who knows of his present whereabouts, to contact police at Greenock immediately via telephone 101.”
