A CAMERA-LOVING cutie from Greenock has landed a place in the finals of a top modelling competition.

Photogenic toddler Riley Windmill impressed judges at the Face of Glasgow contest and has made the shortlist.

The three-year-old from Tasker Street will now go on to strut his stuff on the red carpet at a glittering event in the city’s Hilton Grosvenor Hotel on July 3.

Proud mum Stacey, 26, said: “My friends are always saying I should get Riley into modelling and they sent me a link to the competition. I sent in a picture and a bit about him but I didn’t think anything was going to come of it.

“Then I heard he was in the finals.”

The youngster, who attends Bluebird Nursery, lives with Stacey, a cleaner, and his dad John Paul, 29, who works for Arnold Clark.

Stacey said: “He loves the camera and says he wants a family photo.

“Next Saturday there is a photoshoot and we have to make him an outfit from recycled items and his photo will be displayed on a projector on the night at the Hilton.

“This will just be a taster to see if he likes modelling.

“If he doesn’t and hates it at least he’s tried it and we know, but if he loves it I’ll try to get him into modelling.

“I’d never push him to do something he didn’t want to.”

Stacey has mixed feelings about the catwalk show because there will be hundreds of people at the event.

She said: “I’m excited but I’m a bit nervous too.

“He’s never been in front of a big audience like that before.”

Riley’s first foray into the modelling world requires a local business sponsor and Stacey says a leaflet with all the firm’s details will be included in a goody bag along with their logo on the big screen at the Hilton.
