MINI movers proved themselves a step ahead after a top hip hop star came to Greenock for special lessons.

World champion dancer Honey Joseph has been teaching a series of dance styles at masterclasses in Dazzles Dance Studio this week.

Yesterday, the Tele was invited along to see some of the funky footwork on display at the hip hop class.

Little Abigail Sinnamon was one of the kids enjoying the class.

The eight-year-old said: “We’ve been learning funky moves.

“Honey makes it really fun learning how to do it.”

Honey, who has just returned from Los Angeles where she danced with some of the world’s best choreographers, including the X-Factor’s Brian Friedman, said: “It’s really important to me that if people are going to learn street dance then they learn the foundations of the dance and where it all began.

“So that’s what I’ve been teaching them.

“The kids have really enjoyed it.”

Lynne Weston, owner of Dazzles Dance Studio/Graffiti Dance Troupe, said it was an honour to have such a top performer teaching her charges.

She said: “We are really big on developing and progressing the students so it’s great for them to get some outside expertise from Honey.

“This is the second time we’ve welcomed Honey to the studio and the students have got a lot from it.

“Honey is a big hip hop dance star.”
