A NEW choir is set to hit the high notes at a concert in Lyle Kirk this week.
The Choir Brigade formed in February and has already received an award at the National Choir Competition.
Organisers say the choir has a wide ranging repertoire and want to engage with their audience.
Founder Gemma McLean said: “It’s a mixed voice choir, it is soprano and tenor based.
"We have a lot of quite accomplished local singers and have members who are aged from 15 and 16 right through to people in their 40s.
“We sing classical music, new modern choral music through to Take That and Coldplay, and we are looking at different ways to connect with our audience and to make our performance a bit more of an experience to create something different.”
The concert will take place at Greenock’s Lyle Kirk in Newark Street on Friday at 7.30pm. Special guests will include the Fergus Hall Jazz Trio. Tickets cost £7.
