A SUPER slimmer who admits she could barely walk a few yards is gearing up for a half marathon.

Jenny Barry, who once tipped the scales at 18st, has shed a staggering six and a half stones.

The 66-year-old now has a real spring in her step and is preparing for The Glasgow Kiltwalk on April 30 in aid of Ardgowan Hospice.

The turning point for Jenny, 66, was in March 2014 when one of her knees gave way.

She said: “I joined Weightwatchers at the Pirrie Hall in Greenock in July and at that time I could only walk between two benches on the waterfront.

“I was addicted to fast food and chocolate.

“Now I walk four to five miles every day.

“I love it.”

Jenny has dropped an impressive eight dress sizes and is now a size 14.

She is taking on the Kiltwalk because she wants to give something back to the hospice following the support she received from fellow slimmers.

Jenny said: “I’ve had so much support from Weightwatchers over last three years and so many of them fundraise for Ardgowan Hospice, so this is my way of supporting them.”
