A SPRING concert featuring the Glasgow Chamber Orchestra will take place in Inverclyde this weekend.
They will join Greenock Philharmonic Society at the Lyle Kirk on Newark Street, formerly Finnart St Paul’s, on Saturday from 7.30pm.
Joining them on stage will be special guests Alison McNeil, soprano, and John Arthur, bass, who will team up with tenor James Slimmings and alto Beth Taylor.
There will be performances of Mendelssohn’s ‘Hebrides Overture (Fingal’s Cave)’, ‘Zadok the Priest’, Beethoven’s ‘Mass in C Major’ and Vaughan Williams’ ‘Serenade to Music’.
Anne Armour, from the society, said: “The choir are delighted to welcome the Glasgow Chamber Orchestra back to Greenock after last year’s most successful collaboration in Haydn’s Seasons.”
Tickets for the concert can be bought at the door.
