A MUSICAL and drama workshop hit all the high notes at the Beacon Arts Centre.

Thistle Theatre and Prominence Academy came together for a fantastic week of performing arts.

Youngsters brimming with talent had the chance to take to the stage and perform musical set pieces.

Music teacher Lynette Beaton, who runs Prominence Academy, said: “We decided to collaborate and it was an amazing week.

“The children were amazing.

“We had around 80 parents coming to see them perform at the end of the week.”

Lynette has started up her own academy with music classes for babies and toddlers while Thistle Theatre is one of Inverclyde’s top creative companies.

The pair were delighted to have the support of the Beacon Arts Centre for their successful workshop.

Lynette said: “It is great for Inverclyde to have something as wonderful as the Beacon — the facilities are fantastic.

“They gave us a support worker and helped us from start to finish.”
