STRIKING lecturers from West College Scotland went on a walkabout around Greenock to drum up support from the public.
The placard-carrying lecturers were on the sixth day of a national continuing series of stoppages by EIS-FELA members who are calling for a deal agreed last year with management to be honoured.
They are due to walk out again next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and again on May 30 and 31 and June 1.
Mark Gillan, EIS-FELA depute branch secretary in Greenock, said they will strike for as long as it takes for management to ‘honour the deal’ agreed last year.
He said: “This was to highlight the issues to the public, and emphasise that we want the deal to be honoured so that the strikes can be stopped.”
A statement from West College Scotland said talks were continuing.
